We are having a great week! The students and I are learning more and more about each other. We have been lucky that the rain has gone away for outdoor recess! Yeah for playing outside!
We've been reading a lot of interesting books, Interrupting Chicken, The Fantastic Elastic Brain, Have You Filled a Bucket Today, and a chapter book read-a-loud, Third Grade Angels. We've been talking a lot about our goals and setting classroom expectations so we can all achieve our goals. We also have been working on a beginning of the year math assessment. We are all reminding ourselves that this is a test we should be able to do at the end of the year and that we have a lot to learn!
Please make sure that when you are sending in snacks to school, they are peanut and tree nut free. Snacks that contain nuts will be saved for lunch to eat in the cafeteria. I have talked to the students about this, but please remind your students if you are sending in an item with nuts, it needs to be eaten in the cafeteria. This helps keep everyone safe in school, and if you ask the kids, they know my number one expectation is to keep everyone safe!
